NEW Head Coach

Ashley GilchristI was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana and just moved to Colorado in July 2020! I am a special education teacher in Denver Public Schools for kindergarten through 5th graders. I started swimming when I was 8 years old and swam club swimming through high school. My favorite events to swim were the butterfly and distance freestyle! I started teaching swimming lessons my freshman year of high school which then developed into a love of coaching. I have been an assistant coach and head coach in summer leagues in Indianapolis as well as an assistant coach at the high school level. I am currently one of the age group coaches for the Colorado Athletic Club Stingrays. I am so excited to be a part of the Wahoos!

Swim Assessments All NEW swimmers to the Wahoos will need to complete a swim assessment. Swimmers will need to complete a 25 yd swim unassisted from the side of the pool, lane ropes, or a human. Swim Assessments are scheduled for April 10 at 10:30-11:30am and April 24 at 11am -12pm at the Lone Tree Rec Center, in the lap lanes and ask for Ryan Cook. If your swimmer has a recent swim time to submit in lieu of an assessment, those can be sent and approved by our Head Coach Ashley, [email protected].

SSPRD Scholarships As in previous years, SSPRD is offering scholarships to those needing some financial assistance. The deadline is May 3rd, but the earlier you get your application in, the better. Our team tends to fill quickly and if you don't have your application in early enough for approval, you may miss out on a space on the team. You can find the application here.
